Susie Klein is a visual artist with degrees from Rhode Island School of Design (BFA) and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts (MFA). She brings artistry to all of her work. She is an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP), certified by the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA). Other certifications include UCONN's Master Gardener and certification from CTNOFA's Beginning Women Farmer program. She has more than 15 years of garden and design experience, having worked at leading organic herb growers in Fairfield County. Susie and partner Kathy's Design Firm, J. Barney Toad does work in both Fairfield County and the NYC metro area. Their projects range from an ongoing Brooklyn Barge project to restore the ecology of the urban landscape, to creating an organic vegetable garden for a local farm-to-table restaurant.
Susie is passionate about a creating a sustainable future, blending her talents in art and design with her knowledge of organic and native gardening to create natural environments that are both beautiful and support local ecology. Her most recent area of focus aims to address the bee crisis by including native plants in her projects to support pollinators.
