Safety First

3Dux/design is a family business comprised of four humans, a few cats and a gecko. As parents and community physicians, we have always focused on family, health and safety first. We are proud to offer you a product that is completely American made and exceeds all safety parameters available for testing.

Made in the USA

We source all of our materials from USA-based companies. Our PLA comes from COEXllc, in Wisconsin and we get our cardboard from our friends and neighbors at Valley Container in Bridgeport, CT.To further assure safety, we  manufacture and hand package all of our products in-house. 

Real life testing

When we designed the 3DUX/DESIGN archectural sets, we started with "in-our-house" quality and safety testing. We made countless iterations of the connectors on our home 3D printer, tweaking dimensions and contours to assure all corners are smooth and the plastic is strong yet flexible enough to not break under stress. We performed countess experiments testing their integrity against typical and excessive use/abuse situations.

Independent testing

Industry standard toy testing is critical for any child product. We have every component (plastic and cardboard) of our line tested with the necessary mechanical and chemical safety protocols  by a U.S. Department of Consumer Protection-approved independent agency that specializes in toy safety.

We have our materials tested for heavy metals, lead, and phthalates.  All of our results have been verified by 3rd-party, independently accredited testing laboratories, considered by many to be the best scientific laboratories in the world. Testing is repeated regularly to assure that our products are safe for your children, pets and the environment.

Age appropriateness 

The 3Dux/design architectural set is recommended for children four years of age and above. As parents (and one pediatrician), we understand that it can be difficult to keep all small items away from  little hands. We do recommend that the connectors be stored in a location that is out of reach of small children. While the plastic material used is organic-based and not toxic if swallowed, the connectors can pose a choking hazard to children three years of age and under.

A Note on Cutting Cardboard

Cardboard boxes offer an endless supply of raw material for use with 3Dux/design connectors. Please help your children when cutting the cardboard shapes and should always be supervised when using scissors or other sharps objects.
